Who was Marie

Marie Walton will be remembered by a fortunate few as their loving mother and grandmother. To countless others she was an amazing cook, a successful businesswoman and the quintessential country hostess.

A champion of home-style cooking, Marie ran two successful coffee shops and a catering business in Dalby, while living on the family farm west of town.

Although Marie had no formal training, she was passionate about cooking and all things associated with producing good food and sharing it with others.

Marie loved scouring kitchen shops for that special baking tin or gadget. She loved to collect and swap recipes. She loved cooking something new and sharing her new discoveries.

Sadly, Marie died from Motor Neurone Disease aged 69 years.
